It is crazy to think that the Easter holidays are just around the corner. The old adage which says that “time flies when you are having fun” is totally true – and we should know, because fun is our middle name when it comes to exploring the nooks and crannies and natural wonders of this little piece of Garden Route paradise. We have put together a really cool Easter package to ensure that your time spent in Knysna is memorable and one worthy of hash-tagging like mad across your social media. The package includes our legendary Eco-Marine Tour, A Stand up Paddle exploration on the Knysna Estuary and a GONOW electric bike cruise around town – the combination of which promises to give you genuine taste of what it is exactly, that lures so many adventurers to this seaside hotspot!
Our Eco-Marine Tour is a fun and informative way to experience Knysna’s liquid landscape. Our Blue Flag will vessels take you across the vast Estuary, through the impressive Knysna Heads and out into the Indian Ocean. You will then travel parallel to the coastline and get the opportunity to see the magnificent geological formations that rise up from the ocean depths and you may also be lucky to enjoy a wild encounter with one of many marine animals that frequent our waters. We have regular sightings of three different dolphin species, one of which is the rare Indian Ocean humpback dolphin which often frequents the shallow waters off Buffalo Bay. Bird life is bountiful in our area and you will see an array of water and sea birds during your trip. You may spot a seals too. There is something pretty special about being out in the ocean, and once it casts its spell, holds one in its net of wonder forever.
The second part of our package is a Stand Up Paddle exploration of the calm waters of Thesen Islands Canals and weather and tide permitting, out into the wider expanse of the Estuary. It is both a great workout and great way of exploring our Knysna waterways.
Next up is a bike ride around town – but you needn’t worry about breaking too much of a sweat because our bikes are electric and do most of the work for you. So all you have to do is gently peddle and you can explore large areas of our town on a single charge. This is eco-friendly urban travel at its best!
